The FrostBoss® Range

A frost fan isn't an insignificant investment, so getting the most efficient blade on the market just makes sense.

Manufactured in New Zealand, our 4 and 5 blade fans have industry-leading coverage, use less fuel, are quieter, and have a longer blade life - they are simply the smart choice.

We also manufacture 2 and 3 blade fans to suit different conditions around the world. If you already have existing frost fans, the C49 blade sets can be fitted to most other brands to improve the performance.

Our technology

Our Quiet Blade Technology.

The C49 & C59 fan blades are twisted from the tip to the root, whereas most other frost fans are twisted linearly.


This, combined with the progressive increase in blade width and the rounded blade tips, reduces the 'chop chop' noise 2-blade fans make, and gives improved performance with greater coverage areas.

The twisted blades just look good too, and give the fans a stunning look on the landscape.

Our Housing

Aluminium engine enclosure

Fully lockable, fully enclosed powder-coated aluminium means they're resistant to corrosion and orchard sprays, and restrict rodents and birds.

Integral 490 litre lockable fuel tank

The fuel tank sits under the engine, with capacity for around 24 hours running time. A fuel level sensor prevents the engine running the fuel tank dry so it won't need to be bled if it runs out.

Why choose a FrostBoss® Frost Fan?

Simply put, our fans are efficient, produce less noise, and convert more fuel into useful wind.

Our most popular fan, the FrostBoss® C49 4-blade fan for example, provides the greatest coverage for the lowest fuel consumption of any diesel frost fan on the market. Having a greater blade area allows for a higher blade pitch without running the risk of blades stalling, so the fan can run at a slower speed and make less noise without the chopper sound of 2-blade fans, while doing the same work.

Converting more of your fuel into useful wind means less turbulence and noise, and evidence from frost events has shown 4-blade fans have a greater penetration capability than 2-blade fans, allowing them to cover larger areas.

our servicing

Keeping your fan running optimally.

Like your car, your frost fan should be serviced annually in summer or winter to keep it running at optimal performance, and avoid costly breakdowns during spring or autumn frost seasons.

Lack of use is the major cause of failure, so they should be run and checked regularly, well before you need them.

We service all manufacturers’ brands of frost fans including: FrostBoss®, Orchard-Rite, Amarillo, FMR, Chinook, Tropic Breeze.
